After spending much of Sunday evening and Monday threatening Illinois Democrat State Senators, Pritzker got what he wanted, amendments to his Gun Control MegaBill that removed some of the “watered down” languages.
The bill, now numbered HB 5471, passed the State Senate by a 34-20 margin and heads back to the House for a vote today.
Here are the key features:
*** Bans the delivery, sale, or purchase of any so-called “assault weapon” in the state of Illinois
*** Allows the Illinois State Police to add guns to the list of banned assault weapons over time
*** Limits the number of high-capacity magazines to 10 rounds for long guns and 15 rounds for handguns
*** Extends “Red Flag” gun confiscation orders from six months to one year
We’re asking ALL of our supporters to rain down grassroots hell on the Illinois House this morning by firing off another round of petitions.
